Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22nd of October 2026. This policy describes which personal data is processed when you visit joiel.ch. It follows the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Controller
Selina and Andreas Mülli, Joiel’s Palace kennel, Büel 17, 8733 Eschenbach SG, Switzerland.
Email: barbet@joiel.ch
Principle
We process only the data we genuinely need in order to answer your enquiry and to place our puppies. We do not sell data, do not pass it on for advertising purposes and use no advertising networks.
What this website does NOT do
- It embeds no social media content. The icons in the header and footer are ordinary links.
- It uses no advertising or referral services.
- It builds no advertising profiles. The advertising features of Google Analytics are switched off.
Without your consent, nothing is loaded from Google and no cookie is set when you visit.
Statistics with Google Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are visited, from which area and on which device. This helps us understand which content visitors are interested in and improve the website. The reports contain no names and no email addresses.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. If you agree, your browser fetches a script from Google, and Google receives your IP address among other things. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. What is measured is the pages visited, the time spent, the approximate origin (country and region), device type, browser and the page you came from. The data may be transferred to the USA to Google LLC, which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
For this, Google sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ with an identifier that makes repeat visits from the same browser recognisable. They expire after 13 months at the latest. We keep the evaluated data for 14 months at most. Advertising features, Google Signals and personalised advertising are switched off.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, or consent under the FADP). It is voluntary. If you decline, you can use the website without restriction. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage, one year) so that we do not have to ask you again on every page. The same applies if your browser sends the “Global Privacy Control” signal: in that case we do not ask at all and do not measure anything.
Withdrawal: via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page you can change your choice at any time. Withdrawing deletes the Google Analytics cookies and ends the measurement. Further information: Google’s privacy policy.
Server logs
As with any website, our host records access data for technical reasons, usually IP address, time, page requested, browser type and operating system. This data serves the operation and security of the server. It is not combined with other sources and is not used to identify individuals.
Hosting provider: tophost, part of Novatrend. Log retention: only for as long as is necessary for the operation and security of the server.
Getting in touch and puppy enquiries
When you submit a form, your details are transmitted to our server and forwarded from there as an email to zucht@joiel.ch. We do not store them in a database; the message then sits in our email inbox. The address you provide is used as the reply address so that we can answer you directly.
In addition, the form transmits the page on which you opened it and the page you came from, for example the page of one of our dogs or a search engine. This lets us see what you were interested in and place your enquiry better. Nothing is stored in your browser and no cookie is set for this. The information contains no search terms and no parameters and appears only in the email to us.
What you write to us, that is name, address, telephone number, details about your home and your dogs, is processed solely in order to answer your enquiry and to decide about a possible puppy placement.
Retention: enquiries that do not lead to a placement are deleted at the latest 24 months after the last contact. Where a placement goes ahead, we keep the documents for as long as the sales contract, the pedigree and statutory retention obligations require.
Fonts
The typefaces Jost and Source Sans 3 are stored on our own server and delivered from there. No connection to Google is made and no IP address is sent to Google.
Links to social networks
We link to our profiles on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Only when you click one of these links do you leave this website, and the privacy terms of the respective provider then apply. As long as you do not click, nothing is transmitted to these services.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we process, to have inaccurate data corrected and to have data deleted. You may object to processing and, where the GDPR applies, request your data in a common format.
Please write to barbet@joiel.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or with the European supervisory authority responsible for you.
Changes
We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here is the one that applies.
